The Flute Society at WCU
This organization is designed to share the passion for music and to support the music community. We volunteer at All-District clinics, teach lessons, hosting guest artist and masterclasses. We are very involved in the school of musics activities such as ensembles, recitals, and coordinating music events.
Meet Our Officers
Dedication. Expertise. Passion.
The personnel below are the members who take the extra step to run the Flute Society. Under the leadership and supervision of Dr. Keshavarz, our student leadership are a greatly appreciated and vital part of our organization. The officers are chosen by studio members at the end of each academic year.

Assistant Professor of Flute
Dr. Kelariz Keshavarz
Our society is supervised by the amazing Dr. Keshavarz, who provides expert mentorship to the officers. Dr. Keshavarz and the officers are largely responsible for all Flute Society events, and work together to make the Western Carolina Flute Festival a success.

President

The President’s job is to run the Flute Society meetings and executive board meetings. They are in charge of keeping order and making the final decision that is in the best interest of the group as a whole. They represent the Flute Society at campus organizations meetings.

Vice President

The Vice President is the president’s backup. The vice president will lead the meetings if the president is unable to run them. If the secretary is absent from any meeting it is the vice presidents job to take the notes for that meeting and then to give the notes to the secretary as soon as possible.

Treasurer
Jude Hahn
The Treasurer is in charge of keeping all financial records in order. The treasurer attends campus organizations’ meetings along with the president.

Secretary

The Secretary is in charge of taking extensive notes during every executive meeting and Flute Society meeting. Notes must be organized and emailed to the president as soon as possible. The secretary will keep a record of all events that the Flute Society holds and take attendance of all people at those events.
